BIO
Reena Calm is happy to be here! Raised in the suburbs of Massachusetts, and many mental health facilities in the greater Boston area, a doctor once said she would "never have a normal life." This turned out to be an accurate diagnosis.
Obsessed with comedy, Reena moved to Chicago and made a name for herself as a favorite in one of the best comedy cities in the world, a regular at all the legendary clubs and a teacher at Second City. She quickly became one of the most respected and requested comedians in the Midwest, and is now a nationally touring headliner. Reena is a wordsmith whose material is autobiographical, silly, and charmingly inappropriate, pulling from a lifetime of questionable choices.
Speaking of questionable choices, she's one of the only women in the U.S. to ever live on the road as a full-time stand-up comedian. Traveling around the country in a converted minivan, this pun-slinger has made audiences laugh in ALL 50 States! Full of wild tales from the road, Reena's debut album "CALMEDY" was #1 on the comedy charts, and can be heard on Sirius XM.
Reena has featured at Limestone, RiOT LA, High Plains and so many cool festivals, including TURNBUCKLE at Codfish Hollow!! (She even got her infamous merch display at the Goodwill in Maquoketa.) Shes been a regular guest on the Doug Loves Movies podcast, and was a Comic of The Week on The Jackie & Laurie Show. She's opened for comedy icons like Arsenio Hall, Maria Bamford, Eddie Pepitone, Laurie Kilmartin, Doug Benson and many more.
Check out her book "Once A Pun A Time...Legend of a Sighs Queen" on Amazon. Reena's been called "a one-woman punk band of a comedian" by Jeff Bailey, "everything comedy should be" by Sam Tallent, one of "the best independent comics in the country" by Clearwater Comedy, and "terrific!" by the Chicago Tribune. She hopes to see you at a show in your town soon, and would love to sleep in your finest parking lot. Follow her on Instagram to ride along on her travels @ReenaCalm #ViewnitedStates.
